Toxoplasmosis parasites can migrate from the intestine to the liver and pancreas, and along the vagus nerve to the eye and brain, to cause chronic disease. Toxoplasmosis has been “associated” with epilepsy, movement disorders, Alzheimer’s disease, demyelinating diseases, lupus, obesity, and cancer; and can cause blinding eye disease, mental illness, and regressive developmental disorders in a fetus. Toxoplasmosis is insidious, and can erupt as a chronic disease or mental illness, months or years after an acute infection.
