Influenza-like illnesses can trigger stroke in the ensuing 15-60 days

Carolyn Merchant Blog 0 0

“Influenza-Like Illness as a Trigger for Ischemic Stroke”, reviewed 36,975 patients hospitalized for stroke. The study concluded acute “influenza-like illness” was a trigger for stroke; and the risk of acute illness triggering a stroke increased with each decade of age. The greatest risk for stroke was within 15 days after the acute illness, but the risk persisted for 60 days. Patients who had an acute “influenza-like illness” prior to a stroke had a higher number of co-morbid conditions, including cardiovascular…..

The eyes are a window into health

Carolyn Merchant Blog 0 0

The eyes are the window to the soul: The eyes are also a window into health! The eye is a microcosm of what is happening inside the body, can predict and identify chronic disease, and can give clues to the pathogens involved in chronic disease. The vessels in the eye can predict cardiovascular disease, heart attack, stroke, and Alzheimer’s disease, before these diseases are diagnosed. The iris can potentially predict cancer, metastatic cancer, and the organs affected by cancer. During…..

Osteoarthritis and cardiovascular risk have common origins

Carolyn Merchant Blog 2 0

Osteoarthritis has been linked to an increased risk of cardiovascular disease. Osteoarthritis presents a 42% increased risk of congestive heart failure, a 17% increased risk of coronary heart disease, and a 14% increased risk of stroke. A new study suggested 41% of the increased cardiovascular risk in osteoarthritis arises from the use of NSAIDs, such as ibuprofen (Advil or Motrin), naproxen (Aleve), and a variety of prescription NSAIDs. The remaining increased risk arises from immortal pathogens, which are the root…..

Chlamydia pneumonia can cause cardiovascular disease and Alzheimer’s disease

Carolyn Merchant Blog 0 0

Chlamydia pneumonia has been found repeatedly in cardiovascular disease, by PCR blood tests and pathology examination of tissue, at all stages of chronic cardiovascular disease. Alzheimer’s disease and heart disease are common co-morbid conditions, because both chronic diseases can be caused by the same immortal pathogen. Chronic chlamydia pneumonia attacks endothelial cells inside the vascular system; and generates a cascade of events, which includes damage to cell function, depletion of the energy in the cell, dispersion of abnormal proteins and…..
