Medicine has focused on deconstructing intricate complexities, and now it is time to recognize formerly unrecognized simplicities and patterns, between specialties and between diseases. Acute intracellular infection can become a chronic intracellular infection; and subsequent acute and chronic bacterial and viral infections can also become intracellular. Over time, the mixing of the genetic material of the pathogens inside the cell can lead to cellular fatigue, mutations, and chronic disease.
We cannot solve the mysteries of chronic disease until we abandon the focus on symptoms, and begin to focus on the pathogens that cause chronic disease.
“Most geniuses—especially those who lead others—prosper not by deconstructing intricate complexities but by exploiting unrecognized simplicities.” Andy Benoit Sports Illustrated via James Clear
