Rheumatoid arthritis and co-morbid conditions are from common causes

Carolyn Merchant Blog 1 0
Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) can develop after a urogenital infection with chlamydia. RA has many co-morbid conditions, including infections, cardiovascular disease, pulmonary disease, gastrointestinal disease, neurological and psychiatric disease, kidney disease, ocular disease, skin disease, and cancer.

Chlamydia species that cause RA have a predilection for urethral, reproductive, and ocular tissue. Urethritis and reproductive disease develop from persistent infection in the urogenital system. Ocular complications occur more often in women and children, in the five years after onset. Women are at greater risk due to use of eye make-up and self-inoculation; and children are at greater risk due to the lack of hygiene and self-inoculation.

The pathogens causing rheumatoid arthritis become a chronic infection and can cause any or all of these co-morbid conditions.
