Intestinal pathogens and chronic disease

Carolyn Merchant Blog 0 0

Diagnosis of the pathogens in the intestine has been limited by the inability of gastroenterologists to distinguish normal intestinal bacteria from pathogenic bacteria, and the failure of medical providers to examine material flushed from the intestine before an endoscopic examination. Pathogens in the intestine can migrate or metastasize in the body to cause chronic disease, and even normal intestinal bacteria can cause chronic disease when the bacteria migrates or metastasizes to distant or aberrant locations.

Malabsorption and chronic disease

Carolyn Merchant Blog 0 0

Hippocrates said, “Man is not nourished by what he swallows, but by what he digests and uses”. Malabsorption of nutrients can be caused by pathogens and parasites, which compete for critical nutrients, clog the intestine, and block absorption of nutrients and medications.

The gut connection!

Carolyn Merchant Blog 0 0

The mouth is a major route by which pathogens and parasites enter the body. In recent years, research reports the gut-brain connection, the gut-schizophrenia connection, the gut-Alzheimer’s connection, the gut-autism connection, the gut-pain connection, the gut-arthritis connection, and now the gut-heart connection. It is immortal pathogens and parasites that start in the gut, reside in the gut, and migrate or metastasize to new areas in the body, which cause these chronic diseases.

Mental illness is a medical illness!

Carolyn Merchant Blog 0 0

A new report again supports mental illness is a medical illness! The report did not disclose whether the boy was initially given penicillin for “mycoplasma”; and we are not certain doctors tested for all relevant co-infections with immortal pathogens. However, the article again demonstrates the danger of pathogens from cats, and that pathogens from cats can evolve into chronic diseases. The pathogen causing mental illness was not “self-limiting” as doctors previously assumed, and the boy was lucky his parents and…..

Chlamydia, pneumonia and heart disease

Carolyn Merchant Blog 0 0

In “Chlamydia Pneumoniae Infection and Disease”, Friedman H (Ed), et al. 2004, the authors reported studies which identified chlamydia pneumonia, by PCR testing and direct examination of heart tissue, in patients with myocarditis, endocarditis, and dilated cardiomyopathy. In the patients for whom treatment was stated, those given a macrolide or doxycycline showed improvement or resolution of their disease; and those given penicillin developed chronic fatigue or died.

Chlamydia, pneumonia and asthma

Carolyn Merchant Blog 0 0

In the United States, 24 million people have asthma, and the incidence is increasing. The onset of asthma is often preceded by ear infections, bronchitis, and pneumonia. Amoxicillin is the most widely prescribed antibiotic in the United States, and considered first-line treatment for acute respiratory infections. When penicillin drugs are used to treat intracellular chlamydia pneumonia, penicillin destroys the cell wall but not the pathogen; the chlamydia reticulate body changes shape, becomes larger, and makes more infectious elementary bodies; and…..

Treatment of cardiovascular disease and Alzheimer’s disease

Carolyn Merchant Blog 0 0

Studies showed patients treated with azithromycin or clarithromycin for any reason, in the prior three years, had a significant reduction in cardiac death and stroke; and patients treated with azithromycin for six months had a continued reduction in the rates of heart attack and stroke.   Alzheimer’s patients treated with doxycycline 200 mg. and rifampin 300 mg. demonstrated significantly less cognitive decline. No long-term study has examined patients consistently treated with macrolides, to determine if treatment decreases the risk of…..

Chlamydia pneumonia can cause cardiovascular disease and Alzheimer’s disease

Carolyn Merchant Blog 0 0

Chlamydia pneumonia has been found repeatedly in cardiovascular disease, by PCR blood tests and pathology examination of tissue, at all stages of chronic cardiovascular disease. Alzheimer’s disease and heart disease are common co-morbid conditions, because both chronic diseases can be caused by the same immortal pathogen. Chronic chlamydia pneumonia attacks endothelial cells inside the vascular system; and generates a cascade of events, which includes damage to cell function, depletion of the energy in the cell, dispersion of abnormal proteins and…..

Alzheimer’s and chlamydia pneumonia

Carolyn Merchant Blog 1 0

Numerous studies dating back to 1998 have found chlamydia pneumonia in the brains of Alzheimer’s patients. Newer studies report a retinal scan can detect Alzheimer’s disease decades before symptoms develop, because changes in the vessels in the back of the eye correlate with changes in the brain in Alzheimer’s disease. It seems apparent that if a patient has a positive blood test for chlamydia pneumonia, and a positive retinal scan suggesting Alzheimer’s, early treatment of chronic chlamydia pneumonia could benefit…..
